Board Members of Roshni Trust®

The Board of Roshni Trust® comprises committed and experienced individuals with diverse expertise in social work, legal and institutional development, financial management, education, special education, women’s empowerment, and community development. Their collective experience strengthens the governance, accountability, transparency, and effective implementation of the Trust’s programmes.

Synthia Agnes Dmello

Managing Trustee and Board Member | MSW

Synthia Agnes Dmello is a dedicated social worker with 20 years of experience in the social development sector. She also serves as the Co-Coordinator of the De-addiction Centre. She has extensive experience working with women, children, construction workers, persons affected by addiction, and other vulnerable communities across four districts of Karnataka.

Key Areas of Expertise: Social Work, Community Mobilisation, Counselling, Rehabilitation and Community Development.

Anitha D’Souza

Secretary and Director | MSW, LL.B.

Anitha D’Souza has been actively involved in social development since 2010 and has extensive experience in disability and early intervention, women’s empowerment, child protection, addiction rehabilitation, labour welfare, youth development, and community development.

With her qualification in LL.B., she provides leadership in legal matters, statutory requirements, governance, policy development, institutional compliance, documentation, advocacy, and organisational development. She has played a significant role in strengthening the Early Intervention Centre, establishing the De-addiction Centre, developing institutional policies, preparing sustainable projects, and expanding the programmes of Roshni Trust®.

Key Areas of Expertise: Legal Affairs, Governance, Advocacy, Institutional Development, Programme Management and Organisational Leadership.

Selvin Cleta D’Souza

Treasurer and Board Member | M.Com, B.Com

Selvin Cleta D’Souza serves as the Treasurer and Board Member of Roshni Trust® and also works as an Accountant with the organisation. With her academic background in Commerce and experience in financial management, she contributes to the Trust’s accounting, budgeting, financial documentation, reporting, internal controls, and statutory compliance.

Her involvement strengthens the financial transparency, accountability, and responsible management of the organisation’s resources.

Key Areas of Expertise: Finance, Accounting, Budgeting, Statutory Compliance, Financial Documentation and Accountability.

Janet Flora Pinto

Trustee and Board Member | B.A., Diploma in Special Education (Mental Retardation)

Janet Flora Pinto has a background in Special Education and is committed to the welfare, education, inclusion, and holistic development of children with disabilities. Her educational qualification and experience contribute significantly to Roshni Trust®’s programmes for children and persons with disabilities.

She brings valuable perspectives to the organisation in the areas of education, disability inclusion, early intervention, and child development.

Key Areas of Expertise: Education, Special Education, Early Intervention, Disability Inclusion and Child Development.

Shanthi D’Souza

Trustee and Board Member | B.A., MSW (Community Organisation)

Shanthi D’Souza is a social work professional with experience in community development, women’s empowerment, and entrepreneurship promotion. She has worked extensively with women and communities, particularly in strengthening women’s economic participation and promoting financial stability.

She has played an important role in motivating and supporting thousands of women to develop entrepreneurial skills, improve their livelihoods, and become more financially independent. Her experience in community organisation and women’s entrepreneurship contributes significantly to the Trust’s efforts to promote sustainable livelihoods and gender equality.

Key Areas of Expertise: Community Development, Women’s Empowerment, Women’s Entrepreneurship, Livelihood Promotion, Financial Independence and Community Organisation.
