Youth Training


A 4-day capacity-building training program for young men and women was held, focusing on constitutional values, fundamental duties and rights, and social security schemes. The training also educated youth about government facilities and the importance of their role in the community. This initiative aimed at empowering youth with knowledge that is crucial for their personal and societal development.

Birthday Celebration of Ku. Ahalya


In celebration of Ku. Ahalya’s birthday, nutrition food was distributed to 32 children. The event not only marked the occasion but also helped to support and nourish children in need, showcasing the spirit of giving and care for the community.

Aids and Appliances Distribution


On 5th February 2025, a distribution program was organized for 11 children in need of aids and appliances. Additionally, nutritious food was distributed to 35 children to ensure their health and well-being. The program aimed to support the differently-abled children and provide them with necessary resources for daily living.

Tailoring Training Center Inauguration


A new sewing training center was inaugurated in Maharajpet village, aimed at empowering young women and school dropouts between the ages of 18 and 35. The center, set up after a survey of interested women, offers free training on tailoring and provides necessary materials like scissors, threads, and fabrics. Upon completion, participants are awarded a digital certificate. This initiative is designed to help women achieve financial independence and build their skills for self-reliance.

Republic Day Celebrations


Republic Day was celebrated with pride and enthusiasm in the community, honoring the nation’s heritage, unity, and progress. The event included flag-hoisting, cultural programs, and speeches, bringing the community together to commemorate India’s Republic Day.

Outing for Differently-abled Children


A special one-day outing and relaxation program for 48 differently-abled children was organized to Kaginele. The event provided the children with a memorable and rejuvenating experience, offering them a chance to enjoy the outdoors and take a break from their routine.

Huge Job Fair in Hangal taluk


For the first time ever in Hangal taluk, a significant job fair was organized to help unemployed youth find employment opportunities. The event saw a remarkable participation of 1,720 individuals, with 750 securing jobs. This initiative aimed to combat youth unemployment and empower the local community.

Christmas Celebration


The staff at Roshni Social Action Centre celebrated Christmas Day with festive activities. Santa made an appearance, adding fun to the occasion. They also cut a Christmas cake, a traditional part of the celebration. Gifts were exchanged among the staff, promoting a sense of community and goodwill. Overall, it was a joyful and memorable celebration that highlighted the spirit of togetherness.

Shanthi Sadan Convent and the Roshni Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Addicts at Nalkara Cross

On November 30, 2024, the Ursuline Franciscan Congregation (UFC) celebrated a significant milestone with the inauguration of two key institutions: Shanthi Sadan Convent and the Roshni Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Addicts at Nalkara Cross. The event was graced by dignitaries, including Most Rev. Bishop Derek Fernandes, who officiated the Holy Eucharist and blessed the institutions, and Most Rev. Sr. Milly Fernandes, Superior General of UFC, who inaugurated Shanthi Sadan Convent and presided over the Silver Jubilee of Roshni Social Action Center. Sr. Gretta Sanjivini D’Souza, Provincial Superior of Hubli Province, unveiled the plaque marking the opening.

The event also saw Shri Shrinivas Mane, MLA, inaugurating the Silver Jubilee of the Roshni Social Action Center in the afternoon. He praised the efforts of the Sisters, staff, and volunteers in making the center a success, and the ceremony honored past directors and long-standing staff for their contributions.

Children’s day

On the occasion of Children’s Day, November 14, 2024, a Medical Intervention program was conducted in Shivamogga. The initiative aimed at providing healthcare support, and it benefited 36 children who received essential medical care and treatment. This program was a significant step towards improving children’s health and well-being in the region, ensuring they have access to necessary medical services.
