Training of Leaders on Health


On 23/03/2026, a training program for leaders was organized under “Our Health and Our Rights” at Roshni Social Service Institute, Hangal, in collaboration with Janavedike and Progressive Organization. A total of 59 participants attended. Resource persons included Progressive Organization President Shri NM Pujar, Sister Anita D’Souza, Chaitra Kambalemath, District Health Committee President Basavaraj Kotambari, Fairoz Ahmed Shirabadagi, Manjunath Kuduri, Dr. Kammar, and Ashok Dasara. Representatives from the Health Department, LK Konnoor and Basavaraj Kadakola, also participated and shared valuable information on health rights and community leadership.

Kabaddi Tournament


On 21/03/2026, on the occasion of Shri Sewalal Jayanti, a Kabaddi Tournament was organized at Gundur village in collaboration with Roshni, Yuva Sangam, and Progressive Organization. A total of 10 teams participated in the tournament. The event encouraged youth participation, teamwork, sportsmanship, and community involvement while promoting unity among young people.

Women’s Day Celebration 


The Women’s Day celebration was organized in collaboration with Adarsh Taluk Women’s Union and Roshni Social Work Centre. More than one thousand women participated in uniform, showing unity and solidarity. Cultural programs were presented by various associations to create awareness about women’s issues and highlight the important role of women in society. The program was inaugurated by Hon’ble Shri Srinivas Mane, MLA of Hangal Taluk. Sister Anita D’Souza delivered the introductory address. The event was presided over by Ganga Gode Basannavar and attended by Sister Stella Saldana, Parimala Jain, and other distinguished guests.

Women’s Day Tractor Festival 


On the occasion of Women’s Day, a special program was organized to highlight the importance of women’s organizations and women’s empowerment. Women actively participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing unity and strength. Self-help groups decorated tractors creatively, and prizes were awarded in recognition of their efforts. Women also dressed as inspirational personalities from various fields and shared their achievements with the public, creating awareness about women’s contributions to society and encouraging empowerment.

Champions Mother Training and Nutrition Food Distribution


On 23/02/2026, a Champions Mother Training and Nutrition Food Distribution Program was conducted at the EI and EE Center, Shiggaon, with 27 participants, including 12 parents, 12 children, and 3 staff members. Ms. Meenakshi M.B. led the session on Activity Analysis of ADL (Activities of Daily Living) for children with special needs. Parents were guided on daily self-care activities such as feeding, dressing, and grooming by breaking tasks into simple steps. Nutrition food was also distributed, and parents were encouraged to support their children in developing independence and confidence.

Tax Recovery Awareness through Street Drama


From 16/02/2026 to 20/02/2026, awareness programs on tax recovery were conducted through street drama in the villages under Savasagi Gram Panchayat, including Malligar, Stenahalli, Kadashettihalli, and Savasagi. Around 350 people participated in the program. It was organized in collaboration with Progressive Organization, Roshni, and the Gram Panchayat. Sister Anita D’Souza, President of Progressive Organization, along with NM Pujar, Ashok Dasar, Fairoz Ahmed Shirabadagi, BR Shettar, VDC members, and Janavedike leaders took part in the program.

Aids and Appliances Measurement Program


On 27/01/2026, an Aids and Appliances Measurement Program was conducted at Hangal and Shiggaon with 74 participants, including 31 children, 36 parents, and 7 others. Resource persons Mr. Dhananjay (PT, APD), Mr. Pratap (PT, APD), and Mr. Nagesh (AAT) assessed each child individually to identify their needs for assistive devices. Suitable measurements were taken, and recommendations were made based on each child’s condition. Parents were guided on the benefits, safe usage, and importance of regular use of assistive devices both during therapy and at home.

Awareness Programs for High School Children


On 14/01/2026 and 09/02/2026, awareness programs were organized for high school children of Hirehullala under the guidance of Roshni Social Centre. More than 300 children participated in sessions focused on mental health and child labour prevention. The program emphasized the importance of caring for mental well-being from an early age and creating awareness about the harmful effects of child labour. Staff members actively contributed to the success of the initiative.

Sarva Dharma Snehakoota


Sarva Dharma Snehakoota was organized for all the staff of Roshni Social Action Centre to promote unity, harmony, and mutual respect among different religions. As part of the celebration, ration kits were distributed to six poor families as an act of support and compassion. A joyful Christmas meal was shared among all, creating an atmosphere of peace and togetherness. The gathering strengthened relationships among the staff and encouraged a deeper commitment to social service and responsibility

Awareness Programs for School Children


Awareness programs were conducted for school children in Masanakatti, Hangal, under the guidance of Roshni Social Centre. More than 500 children participated in the sessions focused on cleanliness, health, and personal responsibility. The program aimed to improve children’s understanding of personal hygiene and health practices from an early age, with active involvement from the staff of Roshni Social Centre.
