Health camp was conducted in Makaravalli by Lok Manch and VDC members. Orthopedic, Gynecologist and ENT doctors from Rotary Hospital, Sirsi examined the patients. Free check up was done and more than three hundred people benefited from the camp.

Four days residential training was organized by Roshni in Backward class hostel in Hangal. Twenty six children and their parents participated in the camp. During this camp parents were trained to take care of their children with disabilities and the stages of development were explained to them. Motor and sensory activities were done along with communication and language development. One day outing was organized to enable children and their parents to have socialization. Dr.Nirakar Devdas from APD trained the parents along with Roshni staff.
A day’s training was conducted for the parents of children with disabilities. Ms.Veena Byatnal, advocate explained the various provisions and schemes available for people with disabilities. She explained in detail the procedure of applying for government schemes and the duration of getting it sanctioned. 40 parents participated in the training and acquired the knowledge.

Holiday camp of three days was organized for the children of Adoor village. During these three days, various activities were conducted for the children. Personality development classes were held to help the children build their personality. Drawing, singing, games and other competitions were conducted to enable children to present their talents. Around hundred and fifty children had days of fun and relaxation. On the last day of the program, a cultural program was put up by the children. More than five hundred people of the village gathered in the school ground to witness the performance of their children and to encourage them.
The parents of children with disabilities had a day’s orientation on advocacy and right based movement. Mr.Vijay Kumar, a social activist gave a session on movement, its importance and the ways and means of claiming government benefits. 33 parents participated and decided to form a federation of their own to demand the rights of their children.

A day’s training was held for the parents of hearing impaired, locomotor and CP children under inclusive education programme. Around 60 parents participated in the training and got enlightened on the scholarship facilities and 5% reservation available at Gram Panchayaths for the people with disabilities. Parents were motivated to make use of these benefits for the well being of their children.

Roshni distributed assistive devices to 22 children with developmental delay. The programme was inaugurated by Mr.Marigowda Patil, the president of Taluk Farmers association by distributing Niramaya card to the children. Niramaya cards were distributed to 20 children. In the programme, Ms.Sumangala, PDO of Hullathi, Mr.Manjunath Shigihalli, Panchayath member of Balambeeda and Mr.Sannaveerappa and Mahabaleshwar panchayath members of Naregal were present.

The representatives of self help groups for women had training on Book keeping. In the training women were taught to write cash book, ledger and the minutes of their SHG meeting. The training was given by Mr.Madhu from Sanghamitra Rural Finances and Sr.Synthia, co-ordinator of Roshni De-addiction programme.

Free eye check up was organised in Roshni with the support of Rotary hospital Sirsi. 230 outpatients with various eye problems participated in the camp and had their eye check up done. Among them 90 people were selected for the free cataract surgery. They were taken to Rotary hospital Sirsi in two batches and got their surgery done.

Lok Manch National Coordinator Fr.Sannybai, programme coordinator Sr.Ruby, State coordinator Fr.Francis Balraj, National core committee member Sr.Anitha, Campaign facilitator Ms.Teena and Fr.Jerald, unit coordinator visited Roshni to monitor the Lok Manch activities. They visited Devarahospete village and Interacted with the people regarding the implementation of Lok Manch in their village. Thereafter Lok Manch leaders of all the pockets were asked to present their works and plans for the sustainability of Lok Manch.
